The 2nd annual Walk of Life event, supporting Hamilton General Hospital’s Cardiac Health & Rehabilitation Centre, was held at Bayfront Park on Saturday, May 15, 2010. The Walk of Life is a national initiative run in collaboration with the Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada.
The Cardiac Health & Rehabilitation Centre enjoys tremendous support from past and present patients. Such affection was on display again this year as the Walk of Life attracted approximately 180 participants, and $31,000 in pledges, both tremendous totals. Former patient Mike Dowhaniuk led the way with $5,100 in pledges and won the prize for top fundraiser.
If you were one of the individuals that provided your time or money, thank you very much! The funds will be used to purchase new equipment for the Cardiac Health & Rehabilitation Centre, such as exercise bikes, a treadmill, and a weigh scale.
Hopefully we’ll see you in 2011!
