2011 Mac Kids Miracle Weekend

Mac Kids Miracle Weekend - another successful year!

On Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation operated its annual fundraising event intended to raise awareness about McMaster Children’s Hospital and thank its many hospital supporters.

Similar to last year, Miracle Weekend featured a full day of live interviews by CHCH TV at the hospital on Friday, followed up by weekend broadcasts on CHCH of a specially-made Mac Kids documentary.
This year’s documentary “Where Dreams Take Flight,” featured three stories of children and families touched by the special care provided by McMaster Children’s Hospital. The one-hour documentary told the stories of Lily, a seven-year old cancer patient from Burlington; Amira a baby from Flamborough with a rare genetic condition; and Chaz a five-year-old from Cambridge who experienced a sudden, life-threatening infection.

The documentary and interviews provided a sense of the wide-ranging care at the Mac Kids and the need to fund specialized equipment at the Hospital. It was also an opportunity to thank donors for their generous support – support that resulted in $5.1 million in donations through the past year.

It is not too late, you can still make your donation by clicking here.

Portions of the documentary Where Dreams Take Flight will soon be available to view online.
