What is a planned gift?

It is a donation arranged now so that the Foundation or designated Hospital will receive the gift in the future through your estate planning.  The most common is a bequest however others that are included are charitable gift annuities, life insurance policies, and RRSP/RRIF.

Why should you include a charitable gift to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation in your Will planning?

By including a gift, you can leave a lasting legacy, support health care in your community for generations to come and ensure the great work at Hamilton Health Sciences carries on. 

Will my estate receive a tax receipt for the value of my gift?

Yes, on receiving your estate gift, the Foundation will issue an official tax receipt.

Who can help me arrange a planned gift?

What happens if I don’t have a Will?

If you are a resident of Ontario, the province decides who and how much your heirs will receive.
