Canadian Country Music week kicked off at Mac Kids

On Friday, September 9, Canadian country stars Gord Bamford and Dean Brody stopped by McMaster Children’s Hospital with country music duo The Stellas to deliver some gifts and perform a mini-concert for about 35 patients, parents and staff. Each artist performed a few songs before Gord Bamford presented a cheque for $10,000 to Mac Kids. That was followed by another cheque for $5,000 from the Canadian Country Music Association on behalf of its 2011 Humanitarian award recipient Johnny Reid.

It was a wonderful day for patients, staff and visitors and a great way to kick off Country Music week in Hamilton. Both Gord and Dean were in the city for the Canadian Country Music Awards which took place Monday night at Copps Coliseum.
