Overwhelming Generosity during the holidays at Mac Kids

In amongst the busyness of the holiday season, friends and supporters of Mac Kids took time to be involved with projects that raised funds and toys to help make the holidays brighter for patients at McMaster Children’s Hospital. The following groups represent a sampling of the tremendous generosity of groups, individuals and corporations from throughout our region. Their efforts combined with many other gracious supporters helped bring holiday cheer to the faces of the young patients at Mac Kids.

If you were shopping at Mapleview Centre in Burlington, you will have noticed the gift wrapping station and Santa portraits all of which supported McMaster Children’s Hospital. Left - Mac Kids patient Ben is thrilled with his LEGO set.
For the entire month of December, LCBO stores throughout the province raised funds for numerous charities through their Spirit of Giving Campaign. Customers in this region supported Mac Kids by adding an donation to their purchase or by contributing to the coin boxes.
TD Bank rose to the occasion by matching their customers donations up to $1 million in support of the children's hospitals across Canada who are members of Children's Miracle Network. Customers could set up automated monthly donations in-branch or online to support the cause.
Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation’s Care4 partner, Smart Betty, launched their program in December. After purchasing a fabulous daily deal on the site, people could select Hamilton Health Sciences from the drop down menu and 10% from each purchase helps support our hospitals.   There were a number of groups who wanted to share the holiday joy by ensuring the children in hospital over the season received a toy. Multiple toy drives were held and there was an outpouring of generosity thanks to the efforts of groups like West Jet, Leggat Kia, Mountain Hyundai, and The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation.
