St. Peter's Hospital is - Lifelong Care, Transformed

St. Peter's Hospital is:

  • A Centre of Excellence in the delivery of specialized care for adults with complex disease
  • Caring for the largest population of seniors in Ontario (over 250,000 seniors aged 65+ reside in our Regional Service Area)
  • Home to the Centre for Healthy Aging
  • Home to the Juravinski Research Centre
  • Home to the Alexander Pavilion for adults with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
  • A hospital for adults of all ages who require Complex Care

There is no quick cure or high-tech piece of equipment that will make the individuals we care for better. Our high-touch, low-tech approach to caring ensures that we are treating the whole person – the body, mind and spirit.

Our goal is to enable patients and residents to reach their optimal physical, cognitive and social potential so that they can enjoy purposeful, meaningful lives.

We focus on the following areas of complex care:

  • Behavioural Health – for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and associated dementias
  • Outpatient Community Services – for adults with complex illness who need rehabilitation services but do not require hospitalization
  • Palliative Care – for patients who are nearing the end of their life
  • Restorative Care – for patients who need assistance to overcome the effects of complex health challenges as the result of a stroke or neurological condition such as Parkinson’s disease or Multiple Sclerosis
