  • Your donations ensure that winter is a little warmer for some of our community's most vulnerable members. ❄️ Discharging patients with nowhere to go has always been a heavy burden for hospital staff and a crisis for those experiencing homelessness. Now, thanks to a partnership between Hamilton’s hospitals, the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, The Hamilton Hub, and the Greater Hamilton Health Network, there is a safe place to land. The overnight warming centre at The Hub (Vine Street) offers dedicated spaces for individuals discharged from the hospital. Here’s what makes it special: 🏠 Open 7 days a week, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. 🤝 Staffed by outreach workers & healthcare students. 🩺 Connects guests to primary care & community support. 🏳️🌈 Low-barrier access, welcoming couples and non-binary individuals. Since launching, before Christmas, over 40 people have been kept out of the cold. It’s a vital lifeline that is already saving lives.
