  • We are proud to introduce our 2026 Children’s Miracle Network Champion, Kate!

When she was just three weeks old, Kate was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency, a condition that prevents the body from producing enough cortisol to respond to physical stress. Without treatment, even a cold or stomach flu could be life-threatening.

Kate’s early years involved countless visits to McMaster Children’s Hospital, including multiple emergencies. In addition to urgent care, her condition required ongoing monitoring, blood work and appointments with a range of specialists. Having all the expertise she needed in one place made a complex condition more manageable. Now a bright and energetic teenager, Kate is busy with school, sports, friends and a part-time job at a local café.

She visits MacKids three times a year for routine care. Her daily life still includes medication, but she and her family can now manage minor illnesses at home.

Learn more about Kate’s incredible story on our website. Visit our Link in bio.
