Celebrating Life by Supporting Palliative Care

“I can’t express how grateful we are.”
April 19, 2023

Brian and Claudette Nash of Stoney Creek enjoyed 59 years of marriage together before illness brought Brian to St. Peter’s Hospital. A series of strokes and aspiration pneumonia led to a sharp decline in health, resulting in his admission to the Palliative Care Program in October 2019.

“A sixth-generation farmer, he was really independent and didn’t like going to hospitals,” says Brian’s daughter, Cheryl. “But when his health declined, he recognized that St. Peter’s Hospital was the right place for him.”

Brian passed away on November 20,2019, but his memory lives on in the many lives he has touched.

“Everyone at St. Peter’s Hospital was so kind,” says Claudette. They had an understanding of both the patient’s and the family’s needs.”

As a gesture of gratitude, Claudette donated $25,000 to the Palliative Care Program. This generous gift will enhance patient care and support other families with loved ones receiving care from the team.

“We are in awe of the care he received,” says Cheryl. “I can’t express how grateful we are.”
